But nowadays, there are many different cookers, pressure cookers or *A.I timer cookers in the market. Many of us, as busy mums at work, can’t watch fire all the time or barely half a day in kitchen to do cooking. We need at least 2 hours in kitchen to whip nutritious and healthy food for our family.
So, I started out with buying prepacked right amount of Chinese herbal mixes from NTUC Fairprices or Cold Storage, I do not need to worry on overdose. The packing is nicely packed and hygiene too. Some packing has its own mentioned functional of herbs and purposes. Choose the one you prefer to boil for your family.

Chinese Herbal Chicken Soup 炖鸡汤
I hope my mandarin still ok in the above label (Chinese Herbal Chicken Soup 炖鸡汤).
Herbal ingredient fully absorbed into soup based, just like above photo. This usually the last base and really FULL POWER pack.
This is an easy Chinese soup dessert that is cooling and sweet, which is suitable for the perpetual hot weather in Singapore. Green beans aka ‘mung beans’ are considered by Chinese as a ‘cooling’ food, and some believe it is a good natural alternative home remedy for acne. I just love boiling this because it is so low price, easy and tasty. Some love the look and texture of sago but this is optional. Tips: "Green bean soup is cooling, while red bean soup is 'heaty' food".
Chinese Green Bean Soup
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 100g green beans (aka mung beans) – soaked overnight, rinsed and drained (w/o Ecoramic Pots) If you own one, you do not need to soaked overnight... - 2 pandan (screw pine) leaves, dried ends cut, tied in a knot - 2 litres water - 50g rock sugar, to taste (your own sweetness) - 3 small pieces (10g) of dried orange (tangerine) peel (optional) - 80g canned or vacuum-packed lotus seeds or ginkgo nuts (optional)
Method 1. In Ecoramicpot, add green beans, 2 litres water, dried orange peel and pandan leaves. Bring to a boil. 2. Once water boiling, add green beans. Top up with hot water at any time if necessary. 3. To speed up cooking of green bean soup, place a porcelain spoon in the pot to cook together with the green beans. 4. Stir in rock sugar (to taste) until the sugar is dissolved. Discard orange peel slices and pandan leaves. 5. Serve warmed or chilled.
Savvy Mummy likes to thanks Mummy Hilda for sharing her soup recipe. Looks Yummy and Appetizing. Mummy Hilda's slogan ~ "I Cook, They MUST Eat" :D
Among Asians, cooking papaya often is cooked in sweet soups (usual cooking method is to use ripe papaya for sweet soups and unripe papaya for salty soups). Many mums buy unripe papaya for soup with pork spare ribs for their young adolescent daughters (It supposedly PROMOTES breast development). There is also old folks' saying, having papaya soup for breast-feeding mums who aren't producting enough milk. Boiling papaya with cooked pork feet and other vegetable ingredients. Or Stir-fry papaya with sliced pork as a regular meal dish. Nurtrient and healthy dish (Vitamin and protein).

Soup Of The Day - Papaya Soup With Pork Spare-Ribs
According to Chinese Herbology, foods have either ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ properties. Yin foods have ‘cooling’ properties and on other hand, yang foods, have ‘heaty’ properties. Some foods are ‘neutral’. In Ancient times, the Chinese folks believed that proper diet plays an important part in acheiving a balanced ying & yang quotient for an individual.
In Singapore, it is warm & humid all year round plus other factors like stress, climate, demanding environment and lifestyle. Consuming Yin foods to counter the ‘heatiness’ – having home-cook soup like Old Cucumber Soup – is definitely a MUST. This soup is also beneficial for those in other countries who are experiencing summer. :D
This is another simple soup that I boiled. Using the new Ecoramic Pot, it take lesser time and I don't have to worry about overflow issue :D

- 1.5 litres of water
- 8 red dates
- 6 dried scallops
- 200g pork ribs
- 2 piece dried cuttlefish & few Dried-Sun Fish
- 1 sweet corn, cut to small pieces
- 1 medium carrot, peeled and cut to small pieces
- salt, to taste
Scoop Out The Seeds
Directions
1. Scrub the skin of the old cucumber clean and cut it in half, length-wise. Scoop out the seeds using a spoon. Cut into smaller chunks.
2. In a small pot, blanch the pork ribs in boiling water for a few minutes (so as to remove the scum bits). Drain the pork ribs and set aside.
3. In a soup pot, add all the blanched pork, water, red dates, dried scallops, dried cuttlefish, dried sun fish, sweet corn and carrots. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer the soup over low heat for about 10 minutes. Season with salt to taste.
What an ideal morning, raining with thunders, it's too cozy to wake up from bed. After all, this kind of weather only happens once in a blue moon! Too bad, in reality most of us still have work. I know it's Monday, Monday Blue! But still, today is a working day, the new parliament session (12th Singapore Parliament) start today, after the landmark Watershed May 2011 General Election. Not to mention, we also have a new face, President Tan (It really doesn't matter, all the Presidential candidates coincidentally are all Tan) making his maiden Presidential Speech. More importantly, check out the Gmarket's Oct 10 Events today! Don't miss the chance to win G- Account $100!

A simple soup both healthy and yummy
These are two easy recipes that anyone newbie can take up. This is the end of our demonstration on cooking the two simple dishes with Kitchen Arts Ecoramic Pot and Pans.
Final thoughts of using Kitchen Arts Ecoramic Pan
The Ecoramic Series of Pan & Pot is really light (Aluminium, useful for old folks), the colours are also very vibrant (Nice colour of Yellow, Green, Orange & Blue, like colours of kid's toy!) and really conduct heat fast! (Faster cooking). The vending hole on the lid drain away steam thus will not cause overflow like normal pans, good for cooking soup, porridge, etc. The ceramic coating on the pot and pans is really good, charred can easily slip off make cleaning a breeze, after a few cooking, the base of the pots and pans are still like new. This is a set of modern kitchenware to own.
Good ergonomic design of handle.
The blue sides of the pots and pans are that, the double handle pots are not easy to handle even when handling with cotton gloves, you can still feels the heat. The Pan is better as it has a good ergonomic design and easy to handle. Although the vending hole conduct the steam away, I'm wondering if too much of the heat is conduct away, will there be enough trap and boil the food more like a pressure pan. Well, you can't have the best of both world wasn't it?
Thank you for sharing the happy moments with me. I have taken this picture from Vitasoy and like ot dedicated it to all busy mothers.
Before i end this entry, like to share a picture that my friend has sent me via iPhone. Could the design came out from the same Hong Kong Student who design the famous iMourn dedicated to Steve Jobs? Judge for yourself and give me a 10/10 if i entertained you well :)

My hubby placed an order Gmarket from the vendor iKorea on 26 Sept and it should have arrived on 30 Sept. But there was nobody home. I have wait eagerly for Singpost to redeliver the parcel on Tuesday. My whole weekend is fill with excitement thinking of Ecoramic Pan.
The parcel is about 6.5Kg, send via EMS
The condition of the arrival parcel is quite great. The parcel show that the item was posted out from Korea on 29 Sept via EMS. EMS service is really fast. 2 working days only.
Let take a look inside the parcel. The Ecoramic pots and pans are nicely pack in the insulation package and also bubble wrapped to as a second layer of protection.
The handle for the Ecoramic Pot Covers fresh out of box
Notice that the handles of the cover is not attached on the pot / pans cover. The handle is provided in this sale which is better than the knob advertise on Lejel. It allows it to pot cover to stands, also holding away from the steam gushing out. It is good ergonomic feature.
The Lejel TV offers the knob above
The Pot Handle and Cover, Stand nicely on the tap
I must confess that it took me a while to figure out how to assemble the handle on to the cover. The instruction in Korean is not very helpful. Once i figure it out, I ask my husband to assemble for me. Haha! Thank you Hubby! And below are the steps.
1. Handle 2. Vending Ring 3. Washer and 4. Screws
The Vending Ring show face away from the Handle
This assembly here is wrong, the vending ring (red box) is facing the handle, will scald you when the steam come out of it
Cross section view of wrongly assembly handle, note the vending hole (in red box) is facing the handle
Step 1. Place the vendor ring onto the handle and place the set on the surface of cover as shown
Step 2. Place the washer and the screw in place
Step 3. Use the Philips Screw Drive (+ sign) to secure and tighten the screw onto the handle
Here are the whole set been assembled, stacked nicely on top of each other and ready to cook!
Nicely Stacked
We decided to take a easy try, to fry the sunshine egg. The ceramic coating is really good. The egg really does not stick to the pan. If i could add a little bit of oil, the sunshine eye will be easy slide off the pot.
The Ecoramic Pan is so light, easy to clean and so easy to clean. No messy stain and the pot is still smooth and shining after use, No need to scrub off the carbon like normal glass or stainless steel pot. It is so easy to maintain!
Final Thoughts
This is really a good series of kitchenware to own. Not really expensive and is easy to maintain. The four piece Ecoramic Pots and Pan are bought for S$148 exclude the steamer (Steamer can be bought from this vendor S$39) and silicon pot handler sold by Lejel for S$248. If they could include an English operating manual, it will be fantastic! Will be trying out cooking with food soon. (PS. I have clean up my 20cm stainless steel pan for sale)
