Do you know silicone pot holder has many wonders for kitchen?
Silicone Pot Holder has many useful purposes for many of us. So what can silicone pot holder help? Examples, it aid as heat pad when placing hot pot or pan on it and silicone pot holder is dishwasher safe. Besides that, it works like a jar opener and also a stain resistant and odour resistant too. Last but not least, it acts like a trivet with slip resistant. So when it is dirty, how am I going to clean it? Just clean with warm soapy water. Remember, do not use any abrasive cleaning chemicals or steel wool pads on silicone holder.

Happycall Ocher Deeper Pan  - $28* only! (Delivery not inclusive) SOLD

The Happycall Ocher Deeper Pan is the Korean version. This is an authentic pan. It cooks and function like a normal Happycall Pan series.

The reason why it is below cost is because of the aesthetics. Previous we sold two Happycall Standard pans which shown above, the handle has some chipped off.  The chip off is non functionally damage which means it can still be use without a side drop in quality and handling.

The handles is made of bakelite, the first plastic that is ever invented which is hard but brittle. Bakelite is use for all high quality and premium kitchenware because they are hard and sturdy. If you are giving it as a gift so some one, don't buy this. For personal use, it is a bargain.

Inside the package, we include the Korea manual, copied English manual and pan only.

Grab it fast before it is sold!

Ecoramic Pots Recipe ~ Green Bean Soup

This is an easy Chinese soup dessert that is cooling and sweet, which is suitable for the perpetual hot weather in Singapore. Green beans aka ‘mung beans’ are considered by Chinese as a ‘cooling’ food, and some believe it is a good natural alternative home remedy for acne. I just love boiling this because it is so low price, easy and tasty. Some love the look and texture of sago but this is optional. Tips: "Green bean soup is cooling, while red bean soup is 'heaty' food".
Chinese Green Bean Soup
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 100g green beans (aka mung beans) – soaked overnight, rinsed and drained (w/o Ecoramic Pots) If you own one, you do not need to soaked overnight...
- 2 pandan (screw pine) leaves, dried ends cut, tied in a knot
- 2 litres water
- 50g rock sugar, to taste (your own sweetness)
- 3 small pieces (10g) of dried orange (tangerine) peel (optional)
- 80g canned or vacuum-packed lotus seeds or ginkgo nuts (optional)

Method
1. In Ecoramic pot, add green beans, 2 litres water, dried orange peel and pandan leaves. Bring to a boil.
2. Once water boiling, add green beans. Top up with hot water at any time if necessary.
3. To speed up cooking of green bean soup, place a porcelain spoon in the pot to cook together with the green beans.
4. Stir in rock sugar (to taste) until the sugar is dissolved. Discard orange peel slices and pandan leaves.
5. Serve warmed or chilled.
Serve warmed or chilled

Kitchen Art Ecoramic Ceramic Pot Series - The First Look

Yippee! The 4 Pieces Kitchen Art Ecoramic Ceramic Pot Series have finally arrived, I am now the proud owner of this exciting modern kitchenware. Ever since when I done my research on Happycall double sided Pan, I have been eyeing on this Ecoramic Pot and Pan set from Kitchen Art. My first blog on Ecoramic is here for those who do have no idea of what is it.

My hubby placed an order Gmarket from the vendor iKorea on 26 Sept and it should have arrived on 30 Sept. But there was nobody home. I have wait eagerly for Singpost to redeliver the parcel on Tuesday. My whole weekend is fill with excitement thinking of Ecoramic Pan.

The parcel is about 6.5Kg, send via EMS
The condition of the arrival parcel is quite great. The parcel show that the item was posted out from Korea on 29 Sept via EMS. EMS service is really fast. 2 working days only.

The Ecoramic Pot and Pans are all bubble warpped
Let take a look inside the parcel. The Ecoramic pots and pans are nicely pack in the insulation package and also bubble wrapped to as a second layer of protection.

The handle for the Ecoramic Pot Covers fresh out of box
Notice that the handles of the cover is not attached on the pot / pans cover. The handle is provided in this sale which is better than the knob advertise on Lejel. It allows it to pot cover to stands, also holding away from the steam gushing out. It is good ergonomic feature.

The Lejel TV offers the knob above

The Pot Handle and Cover, Stand nicely on the tap
I must confess that it took me a while to figure out how to assemble the handle on to the cover. The instruction in Korean is not very helpful. Once i figure it out, I ask my husband to assemble for me. Haha! Thank you Hubby! And below are the steps.

1. Handle 2. Vending Ring 3. Washer and 4. Screws
The Vending Ring show face away from the Handle
This assembly here is wrong, the vending ring (red box) is facing the handle, will scald you when the steam come out of it
Cross section view of wrongly assembly handle, note the vending hole (in red box) is facing the handle
Step 1. Place the vendor ring onto the handle and place the set on the surface of cover as shown
Step 2. Place the washer and the screw in place
Step 3. Use the Philips Screw Drive (+ sign) to secure and tighten the screw onto the handle
Here are the whole set been assembled, stacked nicely on top of each other and ready to cook!

Nicely Stacked
We decided to take a easy try, to fry the sunshine egg. The ceramic coating is really good. The egg really does not stick to the pan. If i could add a little bit of oil, the sunshine eye will be easy slide off the pot.

Ecoramic Rear View After Cooking, Sparking Clean!
The Ecoramic Pan is so light, easy to clean and so easy to clean. No messy stain and the pot is still smooth and shining after use, No need to scrub off the carbon like normal glass or stainless steel pot. It is so easy to maintain!

Final Thoughts

This is really a good series of kitchenware to own. Not really expensive and is easy to maintain. The four piece Ecoramic Pots and Pan are bought for S$148 exclude the steamer (Steamer can be bought from this vendor  S$39) and silicon pot handler sold by Lejel for S$248. If they could include an English operating manual, it will be fantastic! Will be trying out cooking with food soon. (PS. I have clean up my 20cm stainless steel pan for sale)

Modern Kitchenware - Kitchen Art Ecoramic

Modern Mums are very difference from the woman at our mother's era. Today, a modern mum needs to juggle between career and family. We are very capable but not wonder woman! It is just too tiring after sometime if we try to be one.

In today blog, i am reviewing a modern kitchenware that will aid a modern busy mum. I believe many busy mums will have encountered this before, we overcooked the food and end up having to scrub all evening to clear away the carbon waste. If the damage is fatal, even our expensive tefal will end up in the waste bins.

I came across the Kitchenart's Ecoramic Ceramic Pots & Pans when i was doing my research on HappyCall pressure pan. The Ecoramic Pot & Pans series is just an eye opener for me. (If i have known it earlier, my housewarming gifts will be those). The Youtube video above is not the highest quality available. I manage to find a clearer one (below) but it is in silent mode, but should be clear enough to understand how it works.

Among the benefits as we have seen in the video, it is natural ceramic coated which means it is safe and health. It cooks fast because of good thermal heat transfer. The Ecoramic series is also easy to clean and wash and we don't to worry about scrubbing the carbon waste now, it is just as easy as a wipe just like the Happycall pan.

The well design lids for pouring broth and the unique handles prevent overflowing which means we don't to clean the stove for spills overs. This translates to saving of time and money.

The TV commercial company, Lejel in Singapore, is selling a set of four plus the extra bonus steamer for S$248. In time of uncertainly, if we can save a little of money more for hard time ahead, why not?

I search in Gmarket for the same offer. Although there aren't many vendors selling, but most of them are selling around 30% cheaper. (Last check Ecoramic is S$140 for set of four pots and pans, if add the extra steamer cost around S$25, the total is S$165) The Gmarket's vendors also provide new generation that include a stand-able lid which stands and will not be scathed by the steam around the handle. This feature is not sold in Lejel's offer.

The drawback for this Ecoramic Ceramic Pot Series like many modern kitchenware that is make up of die cast aluminium, is not suitable for induction cooker as they are not ferrous. (Induction cooker requires the kitchenware to contain ferrous material like stainless steel and steel to work. You can easily test it with a magnet, if the magnet does not stick or attach to the base of the testing pot or pan, the kitchenware is not suitable for induction cooker.) They are rare cases that certain induction cooker works with aluminium kitchenware but they usually take a longer time to cook. Those using only induction cooker will have to give this wonderful product a miss.

Accompany with many benefits, the Ecoramic Cermaic Pans and Pots are worth to try, as it cost as low as S$49 per pot. It is very affordable and cost lesser than some other kitchenware. Here is the link for the list of vendors in Gmarket

We wishes that we have introduce all busy mum a good helper and see you in the next blog.
