My Kitchen

Kitchen Kitchen...

A place where love bloom, bonding nurtured and warm filled. I love my kitchen! This little space created love for me and my hubby.

The glossy black classic finishing on my kitchen cabinet, make me feels my little space modern, classy and a little touch of Zen only find in some modern some up-rise property. The doors and drawers are cushions with Blum. I can now use my "bum" to push the drawers or doors to close without the usual "loud bang" sound. Below are some of the pictures taken of my kitchen.

"Mom, i can see the table in the cabinet"

"Mummy, when are you cooking the grill chicken again with your happy call"

"Mummy, no hand!,How you hooks the knife and pan in the air?" (Ikea Magnet Bar)

Hope you enjoy the views of my kitchen, you can view more at my Flicker. Last but not least, my Kitchen Quotes: "Happiness, Health & Wealth ~ What you think about you bring about"

First look at Happy Call

Finally, we received the Happy Call (double flip pan). We are enticed by what it can do and we ordered a new one from the factory. This is our first trial, cooking prawns with our newly Happy Call. It is blazing fast! Food is good to eat and upholds the claim which we saw in the Happy Call video. We recommended this pan. Hassle free and those people who loves good grill food. We will be posting more videos of how we cook.

Alerts - Keep yourself aware on email scam

Beware! Know them before they strike you! Email scams are back again recently. There are an email in circulation asking for account details, I received the email sometime in June, claiming to be from the Hotmail team and also asking me to verify my Hotmail account now!

After reading the email, it asks for my Hotmail ID, my Password, my date of birth and country or territory where I live. The email claims that if I don't send these details that my Hotmail account will be closed subsequently. Similar emails from Yahoo, Gmail, AT&T are also received. Below are the screen-shots of the email.
If the someone managed to get hold of your account, they could also get hold of your other personal details, like passwords, private messages, personal mail and any other details that you may have stored in there.

Never never give our your personal details !!

The screenshots you see above, note that there are errors, seem unprofessional, funny grammar too.Check the sender's email address, it is definitely not from Hotmail. Real giveaway: someone trying to steal your account is the fact. Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail will never send this kind of email to verify your account. Add a secondary email account that allows you to regain your account if such cases happens to you. Recently, a friend of mine just regain their account, after the hacker to control their Yahoo. If they did not set that secondary email account, their Yahoo accounts will be gone. The hackers use their account to after for money from friends that are link to the account. Lucky for they, they were informed early to minimize the damage.

Protect your email account and do not reply to this email if you receive it. Just remember! Never send your password or reveal any other personal details to anyone.

Kitchen Tips - How To Store Food In The Chiller

In the last blog, we give tips on how food should store in the fridge. In the blog, we will share tips on how food should be store in the chiller :)

Meats: To keep meat fresh, drain any excess water, pat dry and cover with cling wrap or store in a container. Wrap leftovers in aluminum foil and place on a plate

Seafood: Chill fresh fish and prawns like you do with meat. Keep live shellfish like oysters in their de-shells, place in a bowl and cover with a damp towel. Leftover prawn, crab or lobster meat that you have de-shelled can be stored in a zipper bad or airtight container for up to four days.

Vegetables: Wrap in newspaper or keep them in perforated plastic bags so any moisture can evaporate and not cause the veggies to rot.

Fruits: Leave perishable fruits like berries and grapes in their original packaging or wrapped in kitchen towels to soak up the juice when they become overripe. Cover cut fruits with cling wrap, or store in sealed container.

Cheese: Keep hard holes on a plate. Or if you want to keep the aroma in, store hard or soft cheeses in airtight containers without wrapping them. Keep blue cheese in aluminum foil to keep its shape if there are water droplets on cut cheese, leave it unwrapped in the chiller section of the refrigerator to dry before storing.

Dairy products: Store eggs in their original cartons to keep them fresh for a longer time. They absorb smells very easily so do not place them next to strong-smelling foods.

Do not overstock fruits with high sugar content, like passion fruits and kiwis. They have a shorter shelf life as the sugar breaks down quickly, causing them to spoil.

Kitchen Tips - How To Store Food In The Freezer

Have you wonder why some food don't last long even though you put them in fridge? Do you know the way you organize your food in fridge will help you to save costs and keep healthy? Pick up some tips below now!

Meat & Seafood: Keep already frozen packs in the original packaging and freezes them quickly when you get home. Chilled or fresh foods are best stored vacuum packed. You can buy vacuum packers at specialty stores. Or cover with cling wrap and store in an airtight container. If packing in freezer bags, force all the air freezer bags, force all the air out of the bags before zipping. Never freeze meat that is labeled “thawed for your convenience”. Refreezing it can cause it to spoil or dry out.

Fruits: If you have bananas or strawberries that it spoil before you can eat them, pop them into a bag or container and freeze – they make yummy smoothies.

Bread: Leftover bread that has not expired can also be packed and frozen, then toasted before eating.

Lastly, note that freezing food in airtight bags or containers prevents freezer burn, which affects taste and flavor.
